The signal post telephone is designed to provide a totally hands free communication to the driver.
This consists of a robust weather proof enclosure which can be fixed rigidly at a convenient height, to the Home Signal Post using metal clamps. It houses a loud speaker and other circuitry to facilitate communication with the ASM's Console. The signal post telephone is designed to provide a totally hands free communication to the driver. It does not require any separate power supply unit at the signal post and derives all its power from the ASM's console. It does not consume any standby current. This makes the equipment very simple and reliable without the need to maintain or check up the power supply arrangements at the signal post making the equipment maintenance free and vandal proof.
